Introducing the schedule of major festivals and events to be held in Thailand in 2026. Please keep this in mind when planning your trip!
Main festival schedule
- April 13-15 - Songkran - Thai traditional New Year and water festival. This is Thailand's largest festival, with water fights taking place across the country. Khaosan Road and Silom are the most famous.
- May - Visakha Bucha - Buddha's birthday. A candlelight procession will take place at the temple.
- November - Loy Krathong - A festival where lotus-shaped Krathongs are floated on the water. The Yi Peng Lantern Festival is also held in Chiang Mai.
- December 31 - Countdown to the New Year - Large-scale countdown events at Bangkok Central World, Pattaya Beach, etc.

Alcohol sales may be prohibitedon public holidays in Thailand. Please check your travel itinerary in advance as bars and clubs may be closed on Buddhist holidays (Visaka Bucha, Asaha Bucha, Khao Phan Temple, etc.).
